FIRE INSPECTORFORSYTH COUNTY
Enforces all county fire codes, ordinances and fire laws and regulations of the state in order to protect life and property; complies with all rules, orders, and instructions issued by superior officer.
Contacts builders, contractors, and businesses to schedule inspection, building construction/renovation plans review, and re-inspection appointments; determines route for field inspections.
Reviews plans and drawings for new buildings, renovations, and fire extinguishing, protection and detection systems; evaluates operational readiness of existing fire protection systems and equipment.
Reviews code requirements; evaluates plans on and off site for compliance; attends construction conferences; provides technical assistance as needed; forwards plans to other inspection departments as appropriate.
Receives requests for variances and appeals of code; generates documents clearly addressing the issue; consults with fire and building officials on any code variances; delivers approved plans to county/city officials.
Travels to building location; meets with building contractors, owners, and building management groups; scrutinizes building permits; conducts fire prevention and code inspections of buildings under construction and existing buildings.
Examines interiors and exteriors of buildings to detect violations of fire or building ordinances and laws or hazardous conditions; conducts night inspections as needed.

FIREFIGHTERATLANTA
The Atlanta Fire Academy is charged with the responsibility of training Atlanta firefighters and fire personnel in prevention, suppression and rescue/medical functions, more specifically hazardous materials, company unit certification, engine / truck evolutions, minimum company standards, new officer orientation, battalion instructor training, new equipment training / testing, computer training, research & development and recruit training.
Recruit school, 24 weeks in length, consists of 12 weeks of intense firefighter training which includes fire science, ladder, hose, hydraulics, and other courses, 2 weeks of testing and 10 weeks of emergency medical training which will prepare them to take the state EMT exam. When a recruit graduates from the Atlanta Fire Academy, they will be certified with a Georgia Fire Academy 101 certificate and be a state certified Emergency Medical Technician.
AFD also protects Atlanta's Hartsfield Airport, which is the busiest airport in the world. The Atlanta Fire Department Airport Division provides fire protection for the smallest of aircraft up to and including the new Boeing and Airbus super transports. Therefore, it must be able to meet all five (5) FAA Indexes, outlined by Federal Aviation Administration Regulation, Part 139.

PARAMEDICSGRADY - ATLANTA - FULTON COUNTY EMS
Grady Memorial has been located in the heart of downtown Atlanta for over 100 years, and for several decades has been the primary teaching hospital of the Emory University School of Medicine. Grady is the primary hospital for inner city and medically indigent populations in the two largest counties of the Atlanta metropolitan area. It has also developed the responsibility of a tertiary care center for areas such as trauma, burns, neonatal and high-risk obstetrical services, renal dialysis, and poison control.
The Grady Memorial ECC provides medical control to the largest hospital based EMS system in the country. Grady EMS has over 95,000 calls per year and transports patients to every hospital in metro Atlanta.
The Grady EMS program is a $22m high performance operation with more than 250 FTEs responsible for 95k responses and 66k transports annually. Grady EMS also manages the medical call taking and triage program for the City of Atlanta.
Grady is the only Level 1 trauma center in Atlanta as well as the Regional Coordinating hospital for mass casualty incidents in the metro Atlanta region.
Grady EMS staffs more than 20 advanced life support ambulances 24 hours a day and handle all 9-1-1 calls within the Atlanta city limits through the Fulton County 9-1-1 system.
