The Mobile County EMS system began operations in 1992. It was formed with the purpose of providing rapid rural emergency response to the citizens of unincorporated areas in our county. Volunteers originally manned units in four areas: Alabama Port, Fowl River, Semmes, and Citronelle.
Today, the system has expanded to include more than 150 MCEMSS volunteers that staff 9 units in 11 rural Mobile County areas. MCEMSS respond to approximately 12,000 requests for emergency care every year. Full Time $34,000-36,000/year. , Part Time $12/hr. 911 Calls only. 11 paid holidays and other benefits.

Firefighters must be in good health and excellent physical and mental condition to meet the demands of this job.

FIREFIGHTERMONTGOMERY
The Montgomery Fire / Rescue Department serves 163.2 square miles of the city in a medical, fire prevention and suppression capacity. Our workforce consists of 460 dedicated and professional employees, who are very diligent to remain highly trained, citizen oriented, technically current, as well as physically responsible.
The department operates fifteen (15) fire stations. Montgomery Fire/Rescue protects the citizens of Montgomery with 16 Class-A pumpers with three (3) serving as Advance Life Support (ALS) Rescue Companies, six (6) Truck Companies and six (6) Fire Rescue Medic Units. The department’s specialty units include two (2) Hazardous Materials teams, one (1) Heavy Rescue Team. Montgomery Fire/Rescue responded to more than 5,000 fire incidents and 25,000 incidents for a total in the year 2009.

HEMSI MedComm is a state of
the art communications operation located at the
Huntsville, Madison, Madison County 911 Center.
Utilizing computer aided dispatch (CAD) software
developed by Intergraph Public Safety and a Trimble
based AVL (automatic vehicle location) system we are
able to manage our fleet efficiently and assure that
the closest appropriate unit will be sent to any
emergency call.
