Saybrook Township Trustees are accepting applications for up to one full-time
Firefighter/ Medic for their Township Fire Department.

To apply the following minimum requirements must be met: High School Diploma,
GED or equivalent. You must attach copy of your Ohio Firefighters Level II, Ohio
Paramedic certifications (prefer Fire Service background) and Certificate of
Completion (within one year) of the Fire Fighters Physical Agility Test from
Cuyahoga Community College. Must have valid drivers license with a good driving
record (meeting the Township's Policy regarding points). Successful applicant
must be able to pass the Township's physical examination including drug
screening.

FIRE TRAINING OFFICER II
STATE OF OHIO FIRE ACADEMY
LICKING, OH
Instructs, coordinates and evaluates basic and advanced EMS training programs,
works with the Academy’s medical director to ensure all EMS classes comply with
the Division of EMS Standards. Develops lesson plans; prepares proposals and
reports; assists in setting up resident programs; develops new programs and
updates assigned courses. Develops budget for course delivery. Instructs in the
Academy’s fire classes and functions as a rehab officer during OFA hands on
training. Operates firefighter and EMS equipment and apparatus. Operates
audio-visual equipment. Ensures student safety in classroom and on training
grounds. Counsels students.
Instructs in the academy instructor program and the EMS module of this
curriculum, per the standards as established by the Division of EMS. Serves as
County Weekend Coordinator. May instruct in Academy Regional class offerings.
Represents Ohio Fire Academy at meetings, conferences, etc. Prepares & delivers
speeches before specialized audiences. Prepares Publications. Consults with fire
service persons and others relative to training programs, equipment, and fire
department operations.
Performs related duties as required (e.g. assist with fire apparatus, rescue
equipment set-up & repair); assists in on-site preparation for classes.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified as Public Safety Instructor in EMS by Ohio Department of Public Safety
pursuant to Section 4765.55 of Revised Code; valid driver's license.

CLEVELAND E M S
Cleveland EMS is staffed with, on average, 300
professionals who run 22 state-of-the-art advanced life support ambulances
handling 85,000 to 95,000 emergency calls annually. The dispatch center is now
run locally with certified Emergency Medical Dispatchers trained on a Computer
Aided Dispatching system which allows for call prioritizing, pre-arrival
instructions, and the tracking of ambulances and support vehicles.
All of the Division’s emergency medical personnel receive rigorous education,
training, and performance evaluations to make certain that Cleveland's citizens
and visitors receive the best pre-hospital medical care in times of need.

CINCINNATI DIVISION OF FIRE
The Cincinnati Division of Fire is one of the outstanding fire departments in the Nation. It has kept abreast of all new techniques in fire fighting, fire control and fire prevention. It operates a complete Training Center, a Fire Prevention Bureau and an Arson Squad. It is the Nation's oldest professional fire department, organized April 1, 1853.
On April 1, 1853, the Cincinnati Fire Division became the first full-time paid fire department in the United States. Today's C.F.D. consists of more than 785 uniformed men and women staffing: 26 Engines, 13 Ladder Trucks, 1 Heavy Rescue/Haz-Mat unit, 4 ALS Rescue Units, 6 BLS Ambulances, and other special units.
The total area protected is 77.2 square miles with 26 miles of riverfront, and a resident population of approximately 350,000.
