Participating in the process are these Montana Fire Departments:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Each of the participating Fire Departments requires the candidates to have a valid driver's license, a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent certification, and to be at least 18 years of age to apply. All the cities are subject to Montana Codes Annotated, Section 7-33-4107, which mandates a maximum age requirement of not more than 34 years of age at the time of original appointment

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications and pay scales vary greatly from department to department. Salary and benefit information will be included in the pre-test packets when available.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS:

The process consists of two parts: a written and a physical ability test. Successful completion of the written portion is required before the candidate moves on to the physical ability portion of the testing process.

Successful completion of the testing process is not an offer of employment.

The Montana Firefighter Testing Consortium makes reasonable accommodation for any known disability that may interfere with an applicant's ability to participate in the recruitment and selection process or an employee's ability to perform the essential functions of the position. For the Montana Firefighter Testing Consortium to consider any such accommodation, the applicant must make known any needed accommodation at the time they submit their "Application to Test" form.
