The Cheyenne Fire Department is a life saving/property conserving organization that has over 100 years of emergency experience. The department operates from 6 separate locations which are strategically placed throughout the city. CFD operates with 90+ sworn personnel that respond to all emergency incidents within the city during rotation on 24 hour duty days within a 3 shift structure. CFD responds to about 3,500 calls per year on average. 

The Operations Division responds to all emergency incidents within the city during rotation on 24 hour duty days within a three shift structure. Each shift has at its command a battalion chief whose responsibilities include supervision and command of all response companies within their assignment. Each response company has at its command a lieutenant who supervises an engineer and one or more firefighters. Within each Company, one of the three personnel is always a certified firefighter / paramedic.

Firefighter/EMT-BCasper

The City of Casper Fire-EMS Department is an award-winning team of more than 70 dedicated professionals. All team members are trained not only to deal with structure fires, but they are also trained Emergency Medical Technicians. 

The Operations Division is the largest division within Casper Fire-EMS. The Operations Division is responsible for emergency medical services, fire suppression, and mitigation of the consequences from disasters and rescue activities. In addition to emergency work, Operations Division members provide a wide range of services to the community including stand-by medical support at large public events, tours of the fire stations and apparatus, “walk-in” blood pressure screening, chimney brush and life preserver sign out, “ride-along” program offering students a chance to explore a career in firefighting and fire and life safety presentations. Firefighters inspect commercial, multi-residential facilities on an annual basis along with numerous community parades, fairs and cultural events. 

Specialized units within the Operations Division include the Hazardous Materials Response Team, Dive Team, Wildland Firefighting and Heavy Rescue Response. The Operations Division is comprised of three platoons who work an alternating schedule of 48-hour shifts. Each platoon is supervised by a Shift Commander who is responsible for the emergency and administrative activities of all members assigned to the platoon.

Sheridan Fire-Rescue is a department that provides both fire and emergency medical services for the City of Sheridan. The department currently employs 32 full-time people; 28 of which are divided into one-ten person and two-nine person crews who operate out of the fire station. 

The other four employees, who work in the administrative offices, consist of the following: Emergency Services Director/Fire Chief, Division Chief/Training Officer, Fire Marshal, and Administrative Assistant. 

This Department has been in existence since the 1890’s and has been a full-time, paid Department since the early 1900’s. Sheridan Fire-Rescue serves the City of Sheridan with both professional firefighting and emergency medical response. Sheridan Fire-Rescue also provides assistance to the Sheridan County rural fire departments in accordance with mutual aid agreements.
